Just to recap, here is what we did in the last 5 steps:

  1. Identify buckets for setting goals.
  2. Set 1-3 SMART goals for each bucket.
  3. Visualize the effect on your life when you achieve those goals.
  4. Break down each goal into smaller actionable steps.
  5. Set up environment that helps you succeed

Next step is to take each small actionable step you have created (recap of Step 4) for the goals and put it in your calendar.

If some goals are time sensitive (a summer trip must be planned before summer, right!?!), you might need to shift around other schedules already there in the calendar.

But if you usually do not have a very full calendar, I will suggest this:

Fix a day or days and/or time slots when you will be working on these goals. Say, you want to work on your long term goals every Thursday from 11am to 1:15pm.

So pick the tasks and start filling up the slot you have fixed for every week. Take care to check if some tasks must be done sequentially.

If you find that you have booked the time slots for the next 5 or 6 months, don’t panic. That’s what calendars are for. To show you visually what you are working at!

ACTION STEP for today

Pick up one goal and start putting its tasks in your calendar. Then take up the next and so on.

Pro Tip: It is perfectly normal to be working on multiple goals simultaneously. Just ensure that you don’t have continuity issues in completing tasks for one goal.

That’s all for today.

Adios and Happy Scheduling!
