Do you rely on these to make decisions:

  • assumptions (those who wear glasses are nerds)
  • anecdotal evidence (children of this school are smart)
  • abstract observations (I have found that mornings are best to do complex tasks)

If yes, stop right now.

Because you might end up making decisions that you regret later. May be even lose money or sink valuable resources.

You should rely only on data to make decisions.

Because data provides us with insights and concrete evidence that does not go wrong easily.

You often do this yourself. For instance, checking out product reviews before purchasing. Or checking turnover rate of an organization before applying.

But you need to do this more intentionally and more frequently.

QUESTION TIME

Do you use data to make decisions?

If yes, how do you source that data? Yes, that’s important too!! But that’s a story for another day.

That’s all for today.

Adios and Happy Thinking!
