I am talking about CEOs because we all are CEOs of our lives.
And that’s the way we should look at ourselves.
Do you ?
According to this article from Boston Consulting Group, there are eight types of CEOs, depending on how they look at their time:
- Structured CEOs: They fill their calendars with predefined meetings and commitments.
- Open CEOs: They reserve blocks of time to ensure they are always available to their teams and can address unexpected issues.
- Drumbeat CEOs: They plan their schedules, including meetings and travel, well in advance.
- Flow CEOs: They prefer flexibility, adjusting their calendars based on emerging priorities.
- Operator CEOs: They are deeply involved in day-to-day operations and prioritise business reviews.
- Counselor CEOs: They focus on strategic thinking and mentoring their teams.
- Ambassador CEOs: They are publicly active, often giving speeches and attending public events.
- Quarterback CEOs: They prioritize direct interactions and strategy discussions with their senior management teams.
Substitute CEO with your name and team with family/friends/colleagues/boss, depending on your situation.

That’s in fact the ACTION STEP for today.
