Equity – providing resources and opportunities based on the individual’s needs.
Whether you are at home or in a professional set up, you must always be aware of what you are choosing – equality or equity.
Not all kids need same level of attention or time.
Not all new team members need the same level of training.
Not all patients in a hospital need round the clock care (even if they can afford it!!).
Equity might not be acceptable to everyone, but as someone who needs to manage the resources and is invested in everyone’s growth, it’s your call. But yes, you should be ready to explain your actions to those involved.
