If someone disagrees with you, it doesn’t mean they hate you!

All it means is that they have a different view from yours about a person/situation/idea.

Say you and your husband do not see eye to eye on where your kid should go to school.

Does that mean only one of you want the kid in the best school of the city?

Of course not!

Like I said earlier, disagreement simply highlights a difference in opinion.

If you ask me, disagreements are good.

Why are disagreements good?

Because they give you the opportunity to deliberate over your own perspective or idea.

Whether you are at your workplace or in a more personal setting, disagreeing with someone is like getting feedback.

Feedback that can be used to improve upon your initial idea/perspective.

Agreed, the feedback must be constructive for you to benefit from it, but that’s a discussion for another day. I am assuming that the other person is giving the feedback nicely 😊

Time to Think About Disagreements

When was the last time you had a disagreement of opinion with someone?

Did you agree to disagree, give feedback to each other and work through your differences?

If yes, great, pat your back.

If no, what could you have done differently?

That’s all for today.

Adios and Happy Disagreeing!
