Asking because if you are, you are setting yourself up for doing just shallow, busy work. Not the real deep kind of work essential for success, growth and achieving goals.
If you do not have the answer to my question, let me tell you this.
You likely are checking for messages every 6 minutes, if you are a knowledge worker and spend majority of your time in front of your laptop or smartphone or other such device.
This was found by RescueTime when they looked at anonymised data of 50k+ users.
And let me tell you, 6 minutes is average. 35.5% people check for email and IM messages every 3 minutes or less 🙄
So, I circle back to where I started.
QUESTION TIME
How often do you check for messages in your inbox, slack, DMs or any other channel?
A more important question: do you have your email app open in the background? (A 2003 study found that 84% participants kept their inbox open in the background and 70% of the emails were read within 6 minutes of their receipt).
That’s all for today
Adios and Happy Focusing!!
