Because you are not some “stock” whose net worth depends on market forces aka how others think about you.
Create your own value to which you tether.
Appreciate yourself. Don’t wait for someone else to say that you have done an awesome job. Because chances are that they will not.
Studies after studies have revealed that less women get to leadership roles, women are credited less in science, women are never thanked for keeping the house or caring for kids and they always get saddled with office housework.
But you probably know this already.
Today I want you to promise yourself to be proud of what you do/achieve/accomplish, and not wait for others, be it partners, boss, teammates, kids or family members to tell you that you did an awesome job.
Know that you are awesome and tell yourself every single day. At least thrice. Morning, noon and night.
