Life isn’t fair, is it?
But before you answer that, you need to answer another question:
Not fair to whom?
Because fairness as a concept is not something we develop as a society.
Concept of fairness is an individual trait.
I decide what’s fair to me while you decide what’s fair to you.
And realistically, the two may clash. We may not see eye to eye on it.
But still we try to force our idea of fairness on to others.
And if they don’t accept it?
We cry injustice. We create conflict. We create rift.
But what if we had embraced others’ idea of fairness?
I am confident the conflict could have been avoided.
In the light of this, answer me: what would you want around you – fairness or justice/peace?
I would choose peace any time.
Because we can cope if life is unfair at times. But existence is so challenging in a conflict zone!
