Yes, you read that correctly.
As a working mom juggling triple shift of professional, household and care-giving responsibilities, you need to make up your own rules as you go.
Because, I suspect, the age-old rules about societal and personal and professional benchmarks were written by men who could not cook, clean or keep a house to save their lives.
Rules like:
- work is worship
- talking about money is cheap
- God designed women to be weak
- think of others before you think of yourself
- men are the default bread winners of a family
- women are inherently maternal
If you really want to thrive in a society that is in neatly biased, you need to make up your own rules within and outside the four walls of your home or office.
Don’t shy away from doing exactly that.
