Friend of list Rod Aparicio put it well in his yesterday’s email (read here) that if you work on weekends, it should be out of choice.
It struck home because yesterday I almost didn’t send my own email to you Superlistas 🙈
And then I did.
Because I wanted to keep my commitment of sending you an email every single day. And I did not have a situation that I could not do that.
So, I worked yesterday out of choice.
When it comes to parenting, there are many tasks that are compulsory everyday, even on weekends.
But there are some you can work around.
For instance, when my kids were toddlers, I made it a point not to venture out on Sundays.
All household chores such as grocery shopping or movies or social visits were done on Friday or Saturday.
I needed my Lazy Funday Sunday (my daughter used to have a book by that name when she was 5-6 years old and the phrase just stuck with me!!), and I did everything in my power not to do anything except the absolute necessary on Sundays.
