Today I have a question for you dear Superlistas.
Do you use project management principles for personal tasks as well?
Before you dismiss my suggestion, hear me out.
Even personal, household and caregiving tasks can do with some project management principles such as these:
- Setting clear goals
- Creating an execution plan
- Assessing what could go wrong
- Identifying, allocating and managing resources
- Regularly taking stock and adjusting till the task is done
Trust me, following these principles will make completing personal projects and chores so much easier and smoother.
Especially the identifying resources part because everyone and everything except you is a resource 😜
And setting clear goals is also so crucial.
Yesterday I started arranging my daughters’ bookcase. Before starting I asked myself this:
What’s the goal here – flaunting the books or reading them?
The moment the goal was clear, it was as easy as pushing the Harry Potter, Percy Jackson and Thea Stilton collection to the back!!
It’s another thing that my daughters were up in arms the moment they looked at it after coming back from school.
That was a problem I has anticipated!
But you know what, asking that same question – what’s the goal here – shut them up too 😏
ACTION TIME
Is there a personal project or task that you are finding difficult to start or complete?
Try applying the project management principles and see where that leads you.
That’s all for today
Adios and Happy Planning!
