Unless it’s a medical condition, the day to day anxiety we feel is due to lack of control.

On typically these three fronts:

  1. What you want to do vs What you HAVE to do.
  2. How you want things done vs How you actually end up doing them.
  3. The outcome that you want vs the outcome you achieve.

If there is a 4th or even 5th aspect, feel free to share. I would love to explore.

So how to be in more control to reduce anxiety?

Doing these helps me be in more control. Why not give them a try:

  • plan meticulously
  • have a plan b and plan c in place
  • think of all things that can go wrong, and plan for them
  • take help of experts whenever and wherever you can
  • be prepared to get your hands dirty
  • take action; don’t be paralyzed by unknown factors

ACTION TIME

When was the last time you felt anxious about doing something – personal or professional?

Basis what we have discussed here, analyze what you could have done to be more in control and reduce anxiety.

That’s all for today.

May you be in better control!
